On September 13 and 14, C3EN attended the Health Equity Action Network national meeting in Bethesda, Maryland as one of 11 health disparities centers across the United States. In attendance from C3EN were co-directors Elbert Huang and Elizabeth Lynch, community engagement core co-director Doriane Miller, community stakeholder advisory council members Joyce Chapman, Darryl Jenkins, Uche Onwuta, and Tonya Roberson, Keep It Movin’ project director Amber Deckard, pilot awardees Eleanor Rivera, Teresa Moro, Kirsten Dickins, Li-Ting Longcoy, and Fabian Sierra, project managers Christie Edwards and Melanie Norstrom, and biostatistician Nikita Thomas.
Co-director Huang presented a comprehensive update on the state of C3EN and outlined short- and long-term goals through 2033. Pilot awardees Rivera, Moro, Dickins, Longcoy, and Morales presented posters–congratulations to pilot awardee Kirsten Dickins for winning a Top Poster Award for her poster, “A Pilot Trial of Narrative Exposure Therapy with Trauma-Affected Black Women Experiencing Homelessness in Chicago”!
