I’d like to see south side youth have access to activities that challenge them and give them a sense of purpose and a place to feel they belong and can have a direction as far as their everyday struggle.

Congratulations to C3EN Mini-Grant Awardee Chuka Nestor Emezue! Dr. Emezue is a certified health education specialist and Assistant Professor at the Department of Women, Children, and Family Nursing at Rush University College of Nursing.
In 1969, my parents proudly became homeowners after the Fair Housing Act, signed on April 11, 1968, prohibited housing discrimination based on race, color, religion, and national origin. This is the community and neighborhood where I developed a multicultural perspective for community leadership and engagement to address health equity.
